Thank you for your hard work in support of PLANS 2012.  Please note that the abstracts have been listed in the program in alphabetical order, as the policy for paper selection for presentation has changed. Acceptance of the abstract does not guaranteed presentation at the conference.  Final determination as to which papers will be guaranteed a presentation time in the session, and which papers will be designated as alternate presentations, will be based upon the session chairs’ reviews of completed technical papers.  In order to be suitable for presentation/publication, papers must provide highly relevant technical information and the technical material must be of high quality.  Please let us know if you won’t be able to commit this task so a new session chair may be found.

Deadline for authors to turn in papers for presentation consideration is March 19^th. The papers will be distributed to all session chairs by March 20 and the ION National Office will expect your your session layout on March 30, 2012.  Authors have been advised that it is extremely important that they submit their completed manuscript no later than March 19.  Papers not submitted by March 19 will be withdrawn from the conference program.

As the Deadline Approaches  

Make contact with each of the authors scheduled to present in your session to verify that

-     papers have been completed;

-     their paper authorization (if needed) cycle has been completed.

 If you have not already done so, I would encourage you to send them a letter of introduction and provide them with your contact information so that they know how to reach you should the need arise.   

Please notify the National Office of any program changes that are brought to your attention so that we can ensure that your session’s signage and other on-site materials are as accurate as possible.  Any program correction/changes received by the National Office prior to March 30, 2012 will be reflected in the on-site program.
